ANÁLISE EVOLUTIVA GEOLÓGICO-GEOMORFOLÓGICA E USO E COBERTURA DO SOLO DA PLANÍCIE COSTEIRA E ZONA LITORÂNEA DO ENTORNO DA LAGUNA DAS GAIVOTAS, ILHA DE SANTA CATARINA, SC, BRASIL

Abstract

A necessidade do ser humano de se estabelecer na superfície terrestre impõe a demanda do mesmo em elaborar e aprimorar suas técnicas facilitando sua interação com os recursos disponíveis. O presente trabalho traz uma discussão sucinta da importância dos conhecimentos em geologia e geomorfologia para subsidiar o uso e ocupação do solo. A análise evolutiva do esporão arenoso e terraços praias formadores da laguna das Gaivotas, localizada no norte da ilha de Santa Catarina, é feita juntamente com a análise do uso e cobertura de solo como uma forma de integrar os conhecimentos dos processos de formação destes ambientes. Foi elaborado no software ArcGiz 10.1, o mapeamento cartográfico com um alto nível de detalhamento e precisão, contemplando a espacialização de todos os depósitos sedimentares que compõem o modelado de acumulação, da mesma maneira que os maciços cristalinos dissecados ao longo do tempo. Os esforços das atividades de campo focaram na investigação dos dados relativos às características de cada unidade geológica com suas feições geomorfológicas e as áreas sob o avanço urbano consolidado. A partir dos resultados foram realizadas discussões sobre a relação entre os processos atuantes e as diferentes formas de utilização dos variados ambientes encontrados na área de estudo. Foram citadas também as demandas impostas pelo crescimento urbano e os desejos dos moradores nativos.

In order for the human beings to establish themselves on the surface of the Earth it is imperative for them to elaborate and to improve their techniques, thus facilitating their interaction with the available resources. The present work briefly discusses the importance of the knowledge in geology and geomorphology to subsidize the use and occupation of the soil. The analysis of the evolution of the sandy split and beach terraces of the Gaivotas Lagoon, located in the north of Santa Catarina island, is made at the same time as the use and ground cover analysis in order to integrate the knowledge of the formation processes of these environments. The cartographic mapping with a high level of detail and precision was elaborated in the software ArcGiz 10.1, contemplating the spatialization of all the sedimentary deposits that compose the accumulation modelling, as well as the way that the crystalline massifs dissected over time. The efforts of the field activities focused on the investigation of the data regarding the characteristics of each geological unit and geomorphological features and the areas under the consolidated urban advance. From the results, discussions were conducted on the relationship between the processes involved and the different ways of using the different environments found in the studied area. The demands imposed by the urban growth and the wishes of the native inhabitants were also mentioned.
