HERRAMIENTAS TRADICIONALES UTILIZADAS EN EL APRENDIZAJE POR ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS

Abstract

Las herramientas de estudio sirven para ayudar y facilitar la comprensión en las materias. Conocer y emplear estas técnicas permite mejorar el aprendizaje. El objetivo de este trabajo fue explorar cuáles son las herramientas conocidas y más utilizadas por estudiantes universitarios de grado y postgrado. La metodología implementada tuvo un enfoque transversal con alcance descriptivo. Los datos fueron recolectados con una encuesta para explorar las herramientas de estudios empleadas por 49 estudiantes de grado y 22 de postgrado de Microbiología en la Facultad de Ciencias Químicas, Universidad Nacional de Asunción, en mayo de 2019. Los resultados de 71 estudiantes (82% mujeres, 18% varones, edad promedio 24 años) fueron para herramientas más conocidas: apuntes (98%), subrayado (94%) y leer en voz alta (92%). Las más utilizadas en estudiantes de grado: apuntes y subrayado (100%), leer en voz alta, dibujos y enseñar (95%) y en tercer lugar esquema, cuadro sinóptico y mapa conceptual (91%). En posgrado emplean los apuntes (95%), subrayado (81%) y esquema (82%). Las herramientas menos conocidas y utilizadas fueron: lluvia de ideas, casos prácticos, fichas de estudios y mapa mental, en ambos grupos.

The study tools serve to improve the results, by helping and facilitating the understanding in the subjects. Knowing and using these techniques will allow the students to improve their learning. The objective of this work was to explore which tools are known and most used by undergraduate and graduate students. The implemented methodology had a quantitative approach, of transverse cut, descriptive scope. The data were collected with a structured survey to explore the study tools used by 49 undergraduate and 22 graduate students of Microbiology at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences-UNA in May 2019. The results of 71 students (82% women, 18% men, average age 24 years) were for more familiar tools: notes (98%), underlined (94%) and read aloud (92%). The most used in undergraduate students: notes and underlining (100%), reading aloud, drawings and teaching (95%) and thirdly, outline, synoptic table and conceptual map (91%). In postgraduate studies they use the notes (95%), underlined (81%) and outline (82%). The tools less known and used were: brainstorming, case studies, fact sheets and mental maps in both groups.
