A velhice que se conta na obra de Salim Miguel

Abstract

O objetivo desta tese é demonstrar como o tema da velhice é uma marca, na produção de Salim Miguel, especialmente em duas de suas obras: Velhice e outros contos (1951) e Reinvenção da infância (2011), a primeira, início de sua produção literária e a segunda, uma de suas últimas publicações. Busquei evidenciar a velhice nas leituras feitas, ou personagens assim representados, como eixo da poética do escritor que se (re)compõe em (con)textos reconhecidos pelo leitor para além da cena literária. A vinculação deste estudo se faz na linha de pesquisa: Subjetividade; Memória; História, variantes que atuam como fios condutores das análises do corpus selecionado. O tempo, na escrita literária de Salim Miguel, se expressa como força estruturante destes três percursos: subjetividade, memória e história, e aponta para os movimentos das narrativas nas suas singularidades e na possibilidade de se ler a temática da velhice, declarada ou implícita, na circularidade de uma desconstrução cronológica: velhice ? infância ? velhice.

Abstract: The purpose of this dissertation is to demonstrate how the theme of old age is a highlight in the production of Salim Miguel, especially in two of his works ? Velhice e outros contos (1951) and Reinvenção da infância (2011) ? the first book is the beginning of his literary production and the second, one of his last publications. It was sought to highlight old age in the readings made or characters, thus represented, as the axis of the writer?s poetics that (re) consists of (con) texts recognized by the reader beyond the literary scene. This study is linked to the research line ? Subjectivity; Memory; History ? variants that act as conducting threads of the analyzes of the selected corpus. Time, in Salim Miguel?s literary writing, expresses itself as a structuring force of these three paths - subjectivity, memory and history - and indicates to the movements of narratives in their singularities and the possibility of reading the theme of old age, declared or implicit, in the circularity of a chronological deconstruction: old age - childhood ? old age.
