A tradução de Entre Les Murs para o português do Brasil segundo a analítica bermaniana

Abstract

A nossa pesquisa teve como objetivo principal investigar, a partir de uma analítica da tradução, para o português, de Entre les murs (2006), de François Bégaudeau, tomando como base a sistemática da deformação segundo Antoine Berman, se as características da narrativa do texto foram preservadas na tradução. Entre les murs, traduzido por Marina Ribeiro Leite (2009), é uma obra cujas marcas de oralidade e uma escrita não convencional constituem grandes desafios para qualquer tradutor. Partindo do princípio de que a tradução de prosa é uma atividade linguística e literária, foram abordadas algumas reflexões acerca dos problemas específicos da tradução literária, como o plurilinguismo. Dentre as diversidades linguísticas, destacamos aquelas presentes em Entre les murs, como a linguagem das periferias de Paris, que inclui a gíria, o verlan e a linguagem vulgar, e suas implicações na tradução. Segundo Berman, o sistema de deformação dos textos ? da letra ? opera em toda tradução, sobretudo na prosa literária, que pode apresentar um quadro polilinguístico de uma comunidade. Berman elencou treze tendências deformadoras em A tradução e a letra ou o albergue do longínquo (1999) e considera que algumas delas são inerentes à tradução. Na nossa pesquisa, buscamos verificar, a partir do cotejamento do texto fonte e do texto alvo, se o sistema de deformação, segundo Berman, operou na tradução a ponto de impedir que as características linguísticas da narrativa de Bégaudeau fossem mantidas. Constatamos que, apesar de a maioria das tendências deformadoras bermanianas terem sido, efetivamente, operadas no texto alvo analisado, e, consequentemente, algumas perdas em relação à letra terem sido observadas, a tradução não perdeu o seu objetivo maior, qual seja, o de expressar o conteúdo e a cultura de um texto em outra língua.</br>

Abstract: The main objective of our research was to investigate if the characteristics of a text narrative have been preserved in its translation from French into Portuguese, based on the deformation systematic of Antoine Berman. The text at hand is Entre les murs (2006), by François Bégaudeau, translated by Marina Ribeiro Leite (2009), whose marks of orality and unconventional writing constitute great challenges for any translator. Based on the principle that prose translation is a linguistic and literary activity, some questions concerning the specific problems of literary translation, such as plurilingualism, were addressed. We highlighted those linguistic diversities found in Entre les murs, such as the language of the outskirts of Paris, which includes slang, verlan and vulgar language, and their implications for translation. According to Berman, the text deformation system ? da letra - interferes in every translation, especially in literary prose, which can present a polylinguistic picture of a community. Berman listed thirteen deforming trends in The translation and the letter or the shelter of the distant (1999) and considered that some of them are inherent to any translation. In our research, we sought to verify, from the comparison of the source text to the target text, if the deformation system, according to Berman, interfered in the translation of the source text to the point of preventing the linguistic characteristics of Bégaudeau's narrative from being maintained in the target text. We found that, despite the fact that most of the Bermanian deforming tendencies were effectively operated on the analyzed target text, and, consequently, some losses in relation à letra were observed, yet the translation did not fail to achieve its major objective, that is, that of expressing the content and culture of a text in another language.
