Abstract:
|
The search for constructive techniques and sustainable materials are increasing due to the
environmental awareness and minimization of the impacts generated by the construction industry.
Among these materials is the ecological brick, which does not require burning in its production as
a case of ceramic blocks, significantly reducing a CO2 emission and wood extraction. In addition
to being a sustainable material, the ecological brick also bring savings to build through its use in
popular housing, generating a lower value without final cost of buildings, with the benefit of
building more housing units, which contributes to decrease housing deficit Of the country and
consequently cooperation for the preservation of the environment. Although there are no
differences between the sources of environmental resources and the financing of the use of
ecological bricks, there is little scientific evidence to show that this reduction in costs. In this way
the present article was developed with the objective of evaluating an economic feasibility for
replacing ceramic block with ecological brick in a set of popular housing. The methods used for
the development of the work were initially an adaptation of an existing project in a social interest
subdivision in the city of Santa Rosa - RS and later the design project was carried out with a
ceramic block and ecological brick. We had a cost reduction with a use of ecological brick in a
conventional construction method of 32.12% and it is satisfactory in its use in social housing. |
