Design colaborativo e visibilidade indígena na universidade: uma ação para a sustentabilidade da diversidade cultural

Abstract

Este artigo descreve uma das ações do projeto de pesquisa "Design para a Sustentabilidade Sociocultural" organizada em uma universidade no sul do Brasil que teve como objetivo integrar estudantes indígenas e não indígenas por meio da cultura visual de povos ancestrais de modo a colaborar com a visibilidade e a importância do conhecimento local e indígena. Especificamente, buscou-se apresentar aos (às) estudantes indígenas desta Universidade alguns estudos realizados sobre a cultura visual de povos originários. Para tanto, docentes e estudantes de Design realizaram uma oficina dividida em partes teóricas e práticas com a co-participação de estudantes indígenas desta universidade a apresentarem as manifestações visuais de suas etnias. Por meio do design colaborativo, resultou, deste encontro, uma série de produtos gráficos e de moda que promoveram a visibilidade das culturas indígenas presentes na universidade e, principalmente, o engajamento de estudantes não indígenas no conhecimento e discernimento a respeito dessas culturas ancestrais e da diversidade cultural.

This article describes one of the actions of the research project entitled "Design for Cultural Sustainability". Organized at a university in southern of Brazil and that aimed to integrate indigenous and non-indigenous students through the visual culture of ancestral peoples in order to collaborate with the visibility and the importance of local and indigenous knowledge. Specifically, to present to the indigenous students of the University some studies carried out on the visual culture of native peoples. For this, teachers and students of the Design Departament held a workshop divided into theoretical and practical parts with the co-participation of the indigenous students of this university to present the visual manifestations of their ethnicities. The collaborative design resulted in a series of graphic and fashion products that promoted the visibility of the indigenous cultures present at the university and, in particular, the engagement of non indigenous students in the knowledge and discernment of these ancestral cultures and of the cultural diversity.
