Construction Sector Sustainability in the view of entrepreneurs: the case of Santa Maria, RS

Abstract

This article aimed to analyze, through questionnaires applied to investor stakeholders of building construction in Santa Maria (RS), the understanding of these agents regarding applicable in real estate developments. The questionnaires were developed through the Google Forms platform and were sent to 35 agents of local activity, 10 responses were obtained. The aim was to understand the importance of the theme for the sector, as well as its opinion about the sustainability applied in building construction and what advantages and barriers are perceived by them in the exercise of their activities. Results demonstrated that, for the studied group, there is some knowledge about the subject, but there is still a lot of reluctance to accept practices different from those traditionally consolidated in the sector. Costs and costs non-appreciation by the end customer of more sustainable solutions for the sector were pointed out as obstacles for sustainable development sustainable initiatives
