Agroecologia e Reforma Agrária Popular: um olhar para a Rede de Sementes Agroecológicas Bionatur*

Abstract

A produção de sementes orgânicas ainda é um grande desafio apesar do aumento da demanda nacional. Nesse sentido, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar os avanços e desafios ocorridos ao longo da história da experiência pioneira denominada de Rede de Sementes Agroecológicas Bionatur, criada e gerida pela Cooperativa Nacional Terra e Vida - COONATERRA. Para isso, foi realizada revisão bibliográfica, bem como, visitas a campo, visita técnica na sede administrativa e na Unidade de Beneficiamento de Sementes (UBS) da COONATERRA e entrevistas semiestruturadas. As entrevistas foram aplicadas com três agricultores produtores de sementes, dois trabalhadores da Bionatur e um trabalhador da OPAC COCEARGS. A pesquisa resultou na descrição da Rede de Sementes Agroecológicas Bionatur quanto ao seu histórico, organização e processos produtivos, também destacou fatores como o avanço do agronegócio na região, as mudanças climáticas e a falta de políticas públicas como interferências negativas e a consolidação da marca e da compreensão coletiva sobre a importância da agroecologia como interferências positivas. A partir disso, é possível concluir que a Bionatur é um componente fundamental para a construção da soberania e segurança alimentar. Além disso, fica evidente a relação entre a certificação participativa, a agroecologia e a Reforma Agrária Popular.

The production of organic seeds remains a major challenge despite its increasing of national demand. In this regard, this study aims to analyze the advancements and challenges that have occurred throughout the history of the pioneering experience known as the Rede de Sementes Agroecológicas Bionatur (Agroecological Seed Network), created and managed by the Cooperativa Nacional Terra e Vida - COONATERRA (National Cooperative). To achieve this,a literature review was conducted, as well as field visits, a technical visit to the administrative headquarters and the Seed Processing Unit of COONATERRA, and semi-structured interviews. The interviews were conducted with three seed-producing farmers, two Bionatur workers, and one worker from OPAC COCEARGS. The research resulted in a description of Rede de Sementes Agroecológicas Bionatur regarding its history, organization, and production processes. It also highlighted factors such as the advancement of agribusiness in the region, climate change, and the lack of public policies as negative influences, and the consolidation ofthe brand and collective understanding of the importance of agroecology as positive influences. From this, it can be concluded that Bionatur is a fundamental component for the construction of national food sovereignty and security. Furthermore, the relationship between participatory guarantee system 2 (PGS), agroecology, and Popular Agrarian Reform becomes evident.
