Uma cultura das florestas na Amazônia: a região da Valéria em Parintins/AM (1960 - 2022)

Abstract

A tese apresenta a complexidade dos processos constitutivos da cultura das florestas circunscritas entre ?velhos? e ?novos? nos imaginários das pessoas das Amazônias. Para tanto, o paradigma teórico da Teoria do Imaginário Social é o cerne discursivo. Os argumentos tecidos entre as terras, florestas e águas de uma particular Amazônia, caminham pelas culturas e saberes dos povos que habitam a Valéria, inserida territorialmente no município de Parintins, no limite leste entre os Estados do Amazonas e Pará. Ao compreender o processo de tradução de saberes relativos à cultura das florestas numa família moradora da região da Valéria, vislumbra-se as dinâmicas culturais de pessoas que interagem entre as florestas. De modo particular, propôs-se identificar os aspectos sociais, culturais e históricos da condição florestal da Valéria, perceber o imaginário social de uma família residente da Valéria na construção da cultura das florestas, analisar as influências que impactam a tradução da cultura das florestas e interpretar os significados de lugar e pertencimento diante da aprendizagem da cultura das florestas. As pessoas narradoras foram membros da família Xavier de Oliveira, que através da metodologia da História Oral, mostram os agravos do desflorestamento frequente, além de programas e projetos governamentais ou privados que, significativamente, alteraram o imaginário de cada pessoa que lá vive. Na construção de uma condição florestal, o lugar ?Valéria? dota seu habitante de um protagonismo cultural que o orienta nas dinâmicas sociais. O laço afetivo existente entre os que nasceram ou vivem na Valéria, mostra a condição de existência concreta e viver nesse território, para os mais velhos, é a fonte de sua sobrevivência. Aos espaços florestais da Valéria se estabelece significados só entendidos por meio da compreensão da conjuntura histórica, social, cultural e ambiental daquele povo florestal.

Abstract: The thesis presents the complexity of the constitutive processes of the culture of the forests circumscribed between \"old\" and \"young\" in the imaginary of the people of the Amazon. Therefore, the theoretical paradigm of the Theory of the Social Imaginary is the discursive core. The arguments woven between the lands, forests and waters of a particular Amazon, walk through the cultures and knowledge of the people who inhabit Valéria, territorially inserted in the municipality of Parintins, on the eastern limit between the states of Amazonas and Pará. By understanding the process of translating knowledge related to the culture of the forests in a family living in the Valéria region, one glimpses the cultural dynamics of people who interact among the forests. In particular, it was proposed to identify the social, cultural and historical aspects of the forest condition of Valéria, to perceive the social imaginary of a family residing in Valéria in the construction of the culture of the forests, to analyze the influences that impact the translation of the culture of the forests and interpret the meanings of place and belonging in the face of learning the culture of forests. The narrators were members of the Xavier de Oliveira family, who, through the methodology of Oral History, show the aggravations of frequent deforestation, in addition to government or private programs and projects that significantly changed the imagination of each person who lives there. In the construction of a forest condition, the ?Valéria? place endows its inhabitant with a cultural role that guides them in social dynamics. The affective bond existing between those who were born or live in Valéria shows the condition of concrete existence and living in this territory, for the elderly, is the source of their survival. Meanings are established for Valéria's forest spaces that are only understood through the understanding of the historical, social, cultural and environmental situation of that forest people.
