Title: CONSUMPTION AND EXCESSIVE DISPOSAL OF PRODUCTS
Author: Pinho, Matheus da Silva; Zandomeneghi, Ana Lucia Alexandre de Oliveira
Abstract: The current model of production, consumption, and disposal of goods contributes to the maintenance of the consumerist cycle that has implications for the biosphere. This article seeks to expose the consequences of excessive consumption in the environmental sphere and in the lives of buyers, explaining the understanding of this habit through reflection on sales practices such as, for example, marketing and advertising strategies. Two authors guided the development of this article, Manzini and Vezzoli (2011) and Lipovetsky (2007), as part of the theoretical framework, as they present thematic relationships and complementary points of analysis about consumption. The research is characterized by its qualitative approach and basic nature based on bibliographical research (carried out in an unsystematic manner on the “Google Scholar” platform) to collect information that, when related, demonstrates how the habit of going shopping is assimilated by the human being, resulting in the clarification of the consumption cycle, factors that allow its intensification, in addition to the survey of fundamental pillars for the maintenance of consumerist behavior
