Mulheres em traduções: tradução de cinco textos da obra Contes de mille et un matins, de Colette

Abstract

O presente estudo tem como objetivo a tradução e a análise de cinco textos da autora francesa Colette: Littérature (1911), Ça manque de femmes!(1913), Les femmes au congrès (1913), Les petites boutiques (1913) e Métiers des femmes (1914), publicados primeiramente no jornal Le matin e, posteriormente, republicados em uma obra intitulada Contes des mille et un matins (2009). Os textos escolhidos para compor o corpus deste trabalho trazem a representação de mulheres fortes em diferentes cenários e contextos sociais, a autora aborda o feminino sob um ponto de vista inovador e traz a mulher ao centro da literatura em uma época na qual eram marginalizadas e as principais representações destas eram feitas por homens. Este trabalho visa a apresentação de traduções inéditas dos textos da autora, a retomada da discussão acerca da desmarginalização e a luta contra o apagamento do trabalho feminino no meio literário, bem como a divulgação e celebração da vida e carreira de uma escritora que sofreu a opressão patriarcal e ainda assim conseguiu lutar pelo protagonismo feminino. Como embasamento teórico, esta pesquisa dialoga com as reflexões propostas por Olga Castro e Emek Ergun (2016), relacionadas à tradução feminista e aos recursos usados na feminização das obras. No que tange à crítica feminista, traremos as discussões levantadas por Virgínia Woof em sua obra Mulheres e ficção (2019), além das teorias apresentadas por Simone de Beauvoir em O segundo sexo (1949), nos permitindo também a criação de um paralelo sobre o surgimento do movimento feminista na França e sua chegada ao Brasil através de grandes autoras, como Nísia Floresta. Este trabalho é fruto de uma extensa pesquisa em jornais e revistas do século XX, tanto publicados na capital francesa quanto no Brasil relacionados às obras da autora, foram quantificadas todas as traduções já feitas para o português e então realizada a tradução de cada um dos textos levando em consideração todos os aspectos anteriormente discutidos neste e realizando também uma leitura crítica no que tange à representação feminina nestes.

Abstract: This study aims to translate and analyze five texts by the French author Colette: Littérature (1911), Ça manque de femmes! (1913), Les femmes au congrès (1913), les petites boutiques (1913) and Métiers des femmes (1914), first published in the newspaper Le matin and later republished as a book entitled Contes des mille et un matins (2009). The texts chosen to be the corpus of this study present strong women in different settings and social contexts. The author approaches the feminine from an innovative point of view and brings women to the center of literature at a time when they were marginalized and the main representations of them were made by men. This study aims to present unpublished translations of the author's texts, to take up the discussion about de-marginalization and the fight against the erasure of women's work in the literary world, as well as to publicize and celebrate the life and career of a writer who suffered patriarchal oppression and still managed to fight for female protagonism. As a theoretical basis, this research dialogues with the reflections proposed by Olga Castro and Emek Ergun (2016), related to feminist translation and the resources used in the feminization of texts. With regard to feminist criticism, we will bring in the discussions raised by Virginia Woof in her work Women and Fiction (2019), as well as the theories presented by Simone de Beauvoir in The Second Sex (1949), allowing us to also the creation of a parallel between the emergence of the feminist movement in France and its arrival in Brazil through great authors such as Nísia Floresta. This work is the result of extensive research into newspapers and magazines from the last century, both published in the French capital and in Brazil, related to the author's works. All the translations already made into Portuguese were quantified and then the translation of each of the texts was carried out, taking into account all the aspects previously discussed here and also carrying out a critical reading with regard to the representation of women in them.
