Abstract

Dentes tratados endodonticamente são comuns na prática odontológica e, geralmente, requerem o uso de pinos intra-radiculares que irão reter uma restauração direta e indireta. Com o advento da adesão à estrutura dentária gerando princípios mais conservadores, foram introduzidos no mercado odontológico os pinos pré-fabricados estéticos, tais como, pinos em fibra de quartzo, fibra de vidro e cerâmicos. Também vieram com o intuito de superar as deficiências e limitações dos pinos metálicos fundidos. Este trabalho de conclusão de curso visou realizar uma revisão de literatura sobre as características físico-químicas e biológicas dos sistemas de pinos, comparando-os. Foi Concluído que os pinos de fibra possibilitam preservar estrutura remanescente, possuem módulo de elasticidade e resistência semelhante ao da dentina e, se houver fratura, geralmente são menores e reparáveis. Já os pinos cerâmicos, possuem alta rigidez, levando geralmente a fraturas radiculares catastróficas ou irreparáveis; semelhante ao pinos metálicos fundidos.

Endodontically treated teeth are common in practice odontologic and they request, commonly, the use of post and core systems that will retain a direct or indirect restoration. With the coming of the adhesion to dental structure generating more conservative beginnings, they are introduced in the market odontologic the aesthetic prefabricated posts, in other words, quartz fiber posts, glass fiber post and zirconium oxide post. They also came with the intention from overcoming the deficiencies and limitations of the custom cast post and core. This work of course conclusion sought to accomplish a literature review on the characteristics physical-chemistries and biologicals of the posts systems, comparing them. It was concluded that the fiber-reinforced posts make possible to preserve remaining tooth structure, they posses module of elasticity and resistance similar to the dentin and, if there is fracture, they are usually smaller and you repaired. Already the ceramic posts, posses high rigidity, usually taking to you root fracture catastrophic or irreparable; similar to the custom cast post and core.
