Abstract

Estética é sinônimo de aparência natural e harmônica. Atualmente, os pacientes querem as melhores opções para melhorar o resultado final do seu tratamento. Avaliações estéticas e definições de regras são tarefas difíceis, e há a necessidade de orientação de parâmetros para procedimentos clínicos e cirúrgicos. Através de revisão de literatura, são apresentados estes parâmetros estéticos, que podem ser citados como: o sorriso ideal ou agradável tem uma intima relação com as estruturas faciais; tem a curvatura da margem incisal do incisivo central superior paralela a curvatura do lábio inferior; a linha média coincidente; gengivas saudáveis; papilas interdentais com tamanho e volume adequados; posição do zênite dental; os dentes superiores encostam ou tocam levemente o lábio inferior. Além disso, no sorriso a altura cervico-incisal dos dentes aparece inteira, mas a gengiva não, e o número de dentes que aparecem, pode variar. As preferências de dentistas e leigos sobre beleza podem ser diferentes. Pelo fato da beleza ser subjetiva, o ser humano procura, a partir de medidas comparativas e estabelecidas como proporções, alcançar harmonia estética. Na tentativa de estabelecer proporções é que se chegou ao número de ouro. 0 aumento de coroa clinico na região anterior é frequentemente indicado para diminuir a exposição gengival excessiva e/ou melhorar a discrepância entre dentes vizinhos, a fim de que o sorriso seja reconhecido como belo. Porém deve ser adequadamente planejado para não causar problemas estéticos nesta região tão importante.

Aesthetics are synonymous with a natural, harmonious appearance. Nowadays, patients have a great desire for more aesthetic results which may influence treatment choice. Evaluating aesthetics and defining its rules are hard tasks, and there is a need for guidance in setting parameters for clinical and surgical procedures. Through literature review, some parameters are presented. The agreeable or ideal smile has a close relation to facial structures; it has the incisal curvature of the maxillary anterior teeth parallels the inner curvature of the lower lip; the midline coincides; healthy periodontium; papillary gingival with adequate length, width and volume; correct spatial positioning of the gingival zenith; the maxillary teeth totally touching or slightly touching the lower lip. The overall cervicoincisal length of the maxillary anterior teeth are displayed, but the gingival is not. The number of teeth displayed is not constant. The preferences of dentists and patients about beauty could be different. As beauty is subjective, the human being seeks, by comparative and established proportions, to show aesthetic harmony. Looking forward to establishing proportions, the golden number was discovered. The crown lengthening procedures in the anterior maxilla is frequently indicated to reduce the excessive gingival display, and/or to improve the difference between close teeth, but should be correctly planned to avoid problems in the aesthetics of this so important region.
