Abstract

A crescente busca por materiais restauradores estéticos tem incentivado avanços tecnológicos na ciência dos materiais dentários criando alternativas as restaurações metálicas. Na aplicação destes materiais estéticos destaca-se o Inlay e Onlay cerâmico. que surgem como alternativa ao uso do amálgama e outros metais em restaurações classe I e II extensas. 0 estado atual dos Inlays e Onlays cerâmicos adesivos combinam estética,resistência , biocompatibilidade e, o mais importante, a abordagem conservadora das estruturas dentais remanescentes. Desta forma torna-se Uma excelente opção estética para restaurações posteriores extensas. 0 presente trabalho tem por objetivo oferecer ao cirurgião dentista informações que irão auxiliá-lo na decisão de quando e como utilizar os sistemas cerâmicos como alternativa para restaurações estéticas posteriores. Para tal, abordamos o assunto dando destaque para os atuais sistemas cerâmicos disponíveis para a confecção destas restaurações apontando suas vantagens e desvantagens, a seleção de caso, apresentando indicações e contra-indicações, e a descrição dos passos clínicos para a sua confecção e manutenção.

The growing search for aesthetic restoring materials has motivated huge technological progresses in the science of the Dental Materials and creating alternatives to metallic restorations. As a result of this process. Onlay Potter has been recognized an alternative to the use of metals such as amalgam in extensive Class I and Class II restorations. The current state of Inlay and Onlay Adhesive Potters combine aesthetics, resistance, biocompatibility and, most important of all, the conservative manipulation of the remaining dental structures. It has become an excellent aesthetic option for external posterior restorations. The objective of this work if to offer to the dentist surgeon information that will aid in the decision of whether or not use ceramic systems as alternative for posterior aesthetic restorations. In order to do so we analyzed the subject, highlighting the current available ceramic systems in use in these restorations, exposing its advantages and disadvantages by means of case selections and presenting indications and contraindications and the description of the clinical steps for the creation and maintenance.
