Abstract

A implantodontia e a periodontia são especialidades intimamente ligadas. Em certas ocasiões, como por exemplo, nas cirurgias plásticas periodontais aplicadas à implantodontia, pode-se estabelecer expectativas peculiares a cada paciente. Estas As expectativas se refletem basicamente em duas áreas, a função e a estética. A função mastigatória é a mais fácil de ser preenchida. Entretanto, estética é mais difícil e exige do especialista uma clara relação com o paciente, na tentativa de formar uma expectativa realista antes que o tratamento seja executado.O profissional pode se deparar em uma situação desfavorável na confecção da prótese sobre implante e necessitar manipular os tecidos moles periimplantares.O propósito deste trabalho é apresentar, através de revisão literária e relato de caso clínico, a técnica de enxerto de tecido conjuntivo subepitelial como alternativa para manipulação de tecido mole periimplantar em situações esteticamente desfavoráveis.
