Sobre a vontade na natureza: um estudo das ideias sobre os ecos da filosofia schopenhaueriana no século XIX

Abstract

Considerando as reflexões de Arthur Lovejoy sobre a persistência das ideias ao longo do tempo, a presente pesquisa busca examinar o resgate que Arthur Schopenhauer fez de um antigo problema: a vontade na natureza. O objetivo é identificar quais correntes filosóficas do século XIX, às vezes alinhadas ou críticas às ideias do autor de O mundo como vontade e representação, surgiram a partir desse resgate. Para isso, serão analisados os pensamentos de Ernst Haeckel, Friedrich Nietzsche e Sigmund Freud, com o intuito de investigar como as ideias de Schopenhauer ressoaram e foram reinterpretadas na modernidade tardia.

Abstract: Considering Arthur Lovejoy?s reflections on the persistence of ideas over time, this research seeks to examine Arthur Schopenhauer?s recovery of an old problem: the will in nature. The objective is to identify which philosophical currents of the nineteenth century, sometimes aligned with or critical of the ideas of the author of The World as Will and Representation, emerged from this recovery. To this end, the thoughts of Ernst Haeckel, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Sigmund Freud will be analyzed, with the aim of investigating how Schopenhauer?s ideas resonated and were reinterpreted in late modernity.
