Title: Advancing Aquaculture: The Role of Nanovaccines in Fish Health
Author: Martins, Maurício Laterça; Farias, Caio Francisco Santana
Abstract: This book is the result of collaborative efforts by researchers from the AQUOS Laboratory, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and sabbatical students. It aims to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the application of nanotechnology in aquaculture, with a particular emphasis on nanovaccines for fish, a promising and innovative strategy for disease prevention and health management in aquatic species. Developed to disseminate insights gathered from an extensive bibliographic review, this publication targets both the scientific community and the aquaculture production sector. It begins with a classic overview of the fundamental principles of conventional vaccines used in fish immunization, followed by a detailed exploration of the mechanisms of action, advantages, and current challenges associated with nanovaccines. The book also presents future perspectives for their application in aquaculture.
