Title: Metal nanoparticles in combating fish parasites: an updated overview
Author: Martins, Maurício Laterça; Santos, Gracienhe Gomes dos
Abstract: Currently, nanotechnology stands out as a wave of innovation across various fields, including aquaculture. Given the challenges related to fish health and the limitations of conventional control methods, more effective and sustainable alternatives are increasingly needed. On this context, metallic nanoparticles emerge as a promising solution due to their unique properties compared to traditional antiparasitic agents. The aim of this study is to review the effects of nanoparticles already investigated in scientific literature, highlighting their main properties, challenges, and prospects for use as antiparasitic agents in aquaculture.
