IDENTIFICAÇÃO DE APROPRIAÇÕES NA ANTIGA LINHA FÉRREA DE WENCESLAU BRAZ: APROPRIAÇÕES FORMAL, INFORMAL E RESIDUAL

Abstract

O presente estudo apresenta o contexto histórico do Ramal Paranapanema da Estrada de Ferro São Paulo - Rio Grande (EFSPRG) na região de Wenceslau Braz que gerou vazios urbanos às margens da linha férrea após a desativação do trecho em 2001, oportunizando a ocupação de forma irregular. A pesquisa estruturada como estudo de caso combina revisão bibliográfica e observação de campo em três pontos urbanos identificando diferentes formas dessa apropriação do vazio: formal, informal e residual. Os resultados apontam que a desativação gerou uma paisagem heterogênea marcada pela presença simultânea de ocupações guiadas pela memória social e ocupações informais conflitantes com os interesses públicos planejados pelo Plano Diretor Municipal de Wenceslau Braz (PDM 2023). Houve intervenção tardia por parte do estado do Paraná através do PDM para reverter o processo de abandono urbano com intuito de redefinir a função social do patrimônio ferroviário.

This study presents the historical context of the Paranapanema Branch of the São Paulo–Rio Grande Railway (EFSPRG) in the Wenceslau Braz region, which generated urban voids along the railway after the segment was deactivated in 2001, creating opportunities for irregular occupation. Structured as a case study, the research combines a literature review and field observation at three urban points, identifying different forms of appropriation of these voids: formal, informal, and residual. The results indicate that the deactivation produced a heterogeneous landscape marked by the simultaneous presence of occupations guided by social memory and informal occupations that conflict with the public interests planned in the Municipal Master Plan of Wenceslau Braz (PDM 2023). There was a delayed intervention by the state of Paraná, through the Master Plan, to reverse the process of urban abandonment and to redefine the social function of the railway heritage.
