Mulheres Indígenas em movimento: trajetórias das lideranças Tabajaras em Monsenhor Tabosa - CE (2000 - 2023)

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como principal objetivo analisar as trajetórias das lideranças indígenas Luísa Nascimento de Melo, Antonia Feitosa de Souza e Francisca da Silva Ambrósio, do povo Tabajara da Serra das Matas, no Ceará, entre os anos de 2000 e 2023. Busco compreender as articulações políticas empreendidas por essas mulheres na defesa de seus direitos e atuações no movimento indígena. Assim como, analisar as maneiras pelas quais suas experiências são atravessadas pelas relações de gênero e as diferentes concepções sobre o feminismo. Para alcançar esses objetivos, foram refletidas as categorias de identidade, território, corpo-território, de modo a apreender tanto os processos de formação das lideranças quanto às dinâmicas políticas que envolvem seu povo. Também foram incorporados debates sobre movimentos de mulheres indígenas e feminismos, reconhecendo que essas categorias são compreendidas e apropriadas de modos distintos pelos diferentes povos indígenas e não indígenas. A pesquisa baseou-se na metodologia de história oral, com ênfase em entrevistas realizadas com as lideranças e por fontes audiovisuais. Por fim, considero que esta dissertação contribui de forma significativa para os estudos da história das mulheres e das relações de gênero, bem como para o campo da história indígena, ao evidenciar os protagonismos das mulheres indígenas nas lutas políticas, a partir de seus saberes e conhecimentos.

Abstract: This work aims to analyze the trajectories of the Indigenous leaders Luísa Nascimento de Melo, Antonia Feitosa de Souza, and Francisca da Silva Ambrósio, of the Tabajara people from Serra das Matas, in the state of Ceará, between 2000 and 2023. The study seeks to understand the political articulations undertaken by these women in the defense of their rights and their roles within the Indigenous movement, as well as to examine the ways in which their experiences are shaped by gender relations and their different conceptions of feminism. To achieve these objectives, the categories of identity, territory, and body-territory were mobilized in order to grasp both the processes of formation of these leaders and the political dynamics involving their people. Debates on Indigenous women?s movements and feminisms were also incorporated, acknowledging that these categories are understood and appropriated in distinct ways by different Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups. The research was based on oral history methodology, with emphasis on interviews conducted with the leaders and on audiovisual sources. Ultimately, I argue that this dissertation contributes significantly to the study of women?s history and gender relations, as well as to the field of Indigenous history, by highlighting the protagonism of Indigenous women in political struggles through their knowledge and experiences.
