Complexo gengivite estomatite felina: Relato de caso

Abstract

O complexo gengivite estomatite felina trata-se de uma inflamação oral intensa com lesões úlcero-proliferativas. Contudo, sua etiologia e patofisiologia não são totalmente esclarecidas. Sendo um desafio para o médico veterinário obter cura total da afecção. Dessa maneira, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo relatar o caso de um felino, macho, castrado, sem raça definida, com 2 anos e 10 meses, pesando 3,6 Kg atendido na Clínica Veterinária Girassol, em Curitibanos - Santa Catarina, diagnosticado com Complexo Gengivite Estomatite Felina. O diagnóstico foi obtido através de anamnese, exame físico e exame odontológico. Animal apresentava como sinais clínicos diminuição de apetite, halitose e sialorreia. Sob exame odontológico identificou-se ausência de dentes, hiperemia da mucosa oral, aumento de volume discreto na gengiva, sangramento gengival sob palpação, cálculo dentário e periodontite. No hemograma e perfil bioquímico foi observada hiperproteinemia, discreto aumento de glicose, agregado plaquetário e diminuição discreta de fosfatase alcalina. No exame radiográfico intraoral encontrou-se alterações como perda óssea, exposição de furca dos dentes, perda de ligamento periodontal, reação de osteólise nas raízes dos dentes, perda de osso alveolar, lesão de reabsorção óssea, exposição da coroa e retração gengival. De acordo com as alterações encontradas, concluiu-se que a terapêutica de escolha seria o tratamento periodontal e a extração dentária.

The feline stomatitis gingivitis complex is an intense oral inflammation with ulcerativeproliferative lesions. However, its etiology and pathophysiology are not fully understood. Being a challenge for the veterinarian to obtain a total cure of the disease. Thus, the present work aims to report the case of a cat, male, neutered, mixed breed, 2 years and 10 months old, weighing 3.6 kg, treated at Clínica Veterinária Girassol, in Curitibanos - Santa Catarina, diagnosed with Feline Stomatitis Gingivitis Complex. The diagnosis was obtained through anamnesis, physical examination and dental examination. The animal presented clinical signs of decreased appetite, halitosis and sialorrhea. Under dental examination, absence of teeth, hyperemia of the oral mucosa, slight swelling of the gingiva, gingival bleeding under palpation, dental calculus and periodontitis were identified. The blood count and biochemical profile showed hyperproteinemia, a slight increase in glucose, platelet aggregate and a slight decrease in alkaline phosphatase. In the intraoral X-ray, alterations were found, such as bone loss, exposure of the furcation of the teeth, loss of the periodontal ligament, osteolysis reaction in the roots of the teeth, loss of alveolar bone, bone resorption lesion, exposure of the crown and gingival retraction. According to the changes found, it was concluded that the treatment of choice would be periodontal treatment and tooth extraction.
