Relatório de estágio curricular obrigatório em clínica médica de pequenos animais

Abstract

O Estágio Curricular Supervisionado em Medicina Veterinária é um componente curricular obrigatório para a graduação na mesma, tendo como principal intuito a experiência prática do que foi aprendido nos 5 anos de graduação. Desta forma, promovendo a obtenção de novas experiências profissionais, desenvolvimento de atividades ligadas à medicina veterinária, conhecimento prático-teórico, inteligência emocional e principalmente vivenciar a rotina de um hospital veterinário. O presente relatório pretende discorrer as atividades desenvolvidas, abordando a organização, infraestrutura, funcionamento, e a casuística dos pacientes caninos e felinos acompanhados no setor de Clínica Médica de Pequenos Animais durante o período de aproximadamente 480 horas em duas concedentes, iniciando no Hospital de Clínicas Veterinárias da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) onde foram atendidos 49 caninos e 32 felinos e concluindo no Hospital Veterinário da Universidade Luterana do Brasil (ULBRA), local em que foram atendidos 24 caninos e 8 felinos, em ambos locais a especialidade mais atendida foi a oncologia. The Supervised Internship in Veterinary Medicine is a mandatory curricular component for graduation in the same field, aiming to provide practical experience of what has been learned during the 5 years of study. In this way, it promotes the acquisition of new professional experiences, the development of activities related to veterinary medicine, practical and theoretical knowledge, emotional intelligence, and, above all, the opportunity to experience the routine of a veterinary hospital. This report intends to discuss the activities carried out, addressing the organization, infrastructure, operation, and case studies of canine and feline patients attended in the Small Animal Medical Clinic sector during a period of approximately 480 hours at two institutions. It started at the Veterinary Clinics Hospital of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), where 49 canines and 32 felines were treated, and concluded at the Veterinary Hospital of the Lutheran University of Brazil (ULBRA), where 24 canines and 8 felines were treated. In both locations, the most attended specialty was oncology.
