BIBLIOTECA ESCOLAR: O PAPEL DO BIBLIOTECÁRIO NA EDUCAÇÃO JUNTO A COMUNIDADE ESCOLAR

Abstract

As bibliotecas escolares desempenham um papel fundamental na educação dos alunos, servindo como suporte aos programas educacionais e apoiando alunos e professores. No entanto, essa importância nem sempre é reconhecida adequadamente. Bibliotecários atuam como educadores, orientando e estimulando o desenvolvimento pessoal e intelectual dos estudantes, promovendo a educação e a cultura de maneira abrangente, colaborando com a comunidade escolar, eles podem promover a educação e a cultura de forma ampla, dentro e fora da biblioteca. Com isso, o objetivo deste artigo é identificar o papel do bibliotecário junto à comunidade escolar, a partir da literatura científica nacional da área. De forma específica, se objetiva a) levantar a produção bibliográfica relacionada ao tema da pesquisa; b) discutir o papel do bibliotecário escolar como educador; c) apresentar o papel do bibliotecário enquanto educador junto à comunidade escolar. Metodologicamente, esse artigo foi elaborado por meio de pesquisa básica, quantos aos objetivos é exploratória, descritiva, quantos aos procedimentos é um bibliográfico, utilizou-se a Base de Dados de Artigos e Referenciais da Ciência da Informação. Quanto ao tratamento dos dados a abordagem é qualitativa. Ao todo, foram recuperados 21 artigos, desses, oitos foram selecionados para análise. A análise dos resultados

foi realizada por meio da leitura dos oito artigos que compõem o corpus da pesquisa. Conclui- se a partir da pesquisa que transformar o papel do bibliotecário escolar em educador atuante na

comunidade escolar é uma tarefa difícil, pois atualmente ele tem pouca participação no desenvolvimento educacional dos alunos. O maior desafio é encontrar na literatura especializada as informações sobre como o bibliotecário pode desempenhar um papel significativo na vida escolar.

School libraries play a fundamental role in students' education, supporting educational programs and assisting both students and teachers. However, this importance is not always adequately recognized. Librarians act as educators, guiding and stimulating the personal and intellectual development of students, promoting education and culture comprehensively. By collaborating with the school community, they can promote education and culture both within and outside the library. This article aims to identify the librarian's role within the school community based on national scientific literature in the field. Specifically, the objectives are: a) to survey the bibliographic production related to the research topic; b) to discuss the role of the school librarian as an educator; c) to present the librarian's role as an educator within the school community. Methodologically, this article was developed through basic research. In terms of objectives, it is exploratory and descriptive. Regarding procedures, it is bibliographic, utilizing the Database of Articles and References in Information Science. The data treatment approach is qualitative. A total of 21 articles were retrieved, of which eight were selected for analysis. The analysis of the results was conducted through the reading of the eight articles that make up the research corpus. The research concludes that transforming the role of the school librarian into an active educator within the school community is a challenging task, as currently, they have limited participation in the educational development of students. The greatest challenge is finding information in the specialized literature on how librarians can play asignificant role in school life.
