ARTISTAS DE REGGAE NO SUL DO BRASIL: UM ESTUDO DE CASO EM FLORIANÓPOLIS

Abstract

A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo geral compreender a realidade do cenário musical e as perspectivas de atuação dos artistas de reggae na cidade de Florianópolis, no tempo presente, a partir de entrevistas e questionários com alguns artistas do gênero. Para isso, iremos construir um referencial teórico que descreva os principais aspectos históricos do surgimento da música reggae e sua expansão da Jamaica para o mundo. Após isso, contextualizaremos a chegada do reggae no Brasil e procuraremos entender como se formou o cenário nacional. Faremos o mesmo, com um nível maior de detalhamento, para a cidade de Florianópolis e região, construindo um retrospecto histórico que parte de meados dos anos 90 até o presente, tendo como referências bandas e artistas relevantes nesse período. História Oral e História do Tempo Presente permeiam o trabalho. Para o estudo de caso, foram elaboradas entrevistas com perguntas abertas, aplicadas a alguns artistas previamente selecionados. Após isso, os dados serão compilados e analisados.

The present research aims to understand the current reality of the musical scene and the perspectives of reggae artists in the city of Florianópolis, through interviews and questionnaires with some artists of the genre. To achieve this, we will construct a theoretical framework that describes the main historical aspects of the emergence of reggae music and its expansion from Jamaica to the world. Following this, we will contextualize the arrival of reggae in Brazil and seek to understand how the national scene was formed. We will do the same, with a greater level of detail, for the city of Florianópolis and the surrounding region, creating a historical overview from the mid-1990s to the present, with references to relevant bands and artists from this period. Oral History and History of the Present Permeate the Work. For the case study, interviews with open-ended questions were prepared and applied to selected artists. Subsequently, the data will be compiled and analyzed.
