“Nhamonhendu ikatu mborai”: Traducción comentada de diez mborai guaraní mbya

Abstract

El guaraní es una lengua supranacional, hablada en cinco países de América del Sur, perteneciente al tronco lingüístico del tupí-guaraní. El mbya es una de las tres variedades que esta lengua tiene en Brasil (MORELLO, 2011). En este trabajo se presenta la traducción comentada de diez mborai -cánticas- de la lengua guaraní mbya para la lengua castellana. En un primer momento se realiza una traducción literal, manteniendo la sintaxis del guaraní, luego una segunda versión de la traducción ya en la sintaxis del castellano. En los comentarios se destacan cuestiones del funcionamiento de estructuras lingüísticas del mbya, algunos elementos culturales importantes que se mencionan en las cánticas y problemas de traducción y soluciones que se dieron a lo largo del proceso de traducción.

The Guarani is a supranational language spoken in five South American countries, belonging to the Tupí-Guaraní linguistic family. The Mbya is one of the three varieties of this language found in Brazil (MORELLO, 2011). This work presents the commented translation of ten 'mborai' - chants - from the Mbya Guarani language into Spanish. Initially, a literal translation is performed, maintaining the Guarani syntax, followed by a second version of the translation in Spanish syntax. The comments highlight aspects of the Mbya linguistic structures, significant cultural elements mentioned in the chants, and translation issues and solutions that arose during the translation process.
