Ensinar é ilhar: uma cartografia de práticas pedagógicas na Educação Infantil

Abstract

Esta tese navega entre mares de infância, matemática e cultura açoriana, perguntando: o que pode a cultura açoriana com professores pedagogos na Educação Infantil? Inspirada na cartografia de Deleuze e Guattari, a pesquisa faz do ato de investigar uma travessia, um percurso que se dá com os acontecimentos dos encontros entre, professores, infância e cultura açoriana. Como quem habita um arquipélago, cada capítulo é uma ilha: na de São Miguel, delineiam-se os caminhos e perguntas; na de Santa Maria, revisita-se o pensamento sobre a Matemática na infância; na Terceira, traçam-se os mapas metodológicos; e nas demais, emergem histórias, brincadeiras, oficinas e descobertas. No Centro de Educação Infantil Municipal Algodão Doce, em Biguaçu (SC), nove professoras e crianças inventaram modos de ensinar e aprender matemática entrelaçados à cultura local, nas cantigas, nos jogos, nos gestos, nas marés do cotidiano. Assim nasceram as brincadeiras matemaçorianas, onde o pensamento matemático pulsa no corpo, no ritmo e na partilha. Ao cartografar esses encontros, a tese apresenta uma outra matemática, que se faz com o afeto, a arte e o objetos da cultura: uma matemática que habita o tempo da infância e se reconhece nas tradições que o mar possibilita e que o vento continua a espalhar ? lembrando que \"ensinar é também ilhar\"! É como se cada ato de ensinar fosse criar uma ilha, um espaço único e especial onde as pessoas se conectam, aprendem e se transformam.

Abstract: This thesis navigates the seas of childhood, mathematics, and Azorean culture, asking: what can Azorean culture do with pedagogical teachers in Early Childhood Education? Inspired by Deleuze and Guattari's cartography, the research makes the act of investigating a crossing, a journey that unfolds through the encounters between teachers, childhood, and Azorean culture. Like those who inhabit an archipelago, each chapter is an island: on São Miguel, paths and questions are outlined; on Santa Maria, the thinking about mathematics in childhood is revisited; on Terceira, methodological maps are drawn; and on the others, stories, games, workshops, and discoveries emerge. At the Algodão Doce Municipal Early Childhood Education Center in Biguaçu (SC), nine teachers and children invented ways of teaching and learning mathematics intertwined with local culture, in songs, games, gestures, and the tides of daily life. Thus were born the Azorean math games, where mathematical thought pulsates in the body, in rhythm, and in sharing. By mapping these encounters, the thesis presents another kind of mathematics, one that is made with affection, art, and cultural objects: a mathematics that inhabits the time of childhood and recognizes itself in the traditions that the sea makes possible and that the wind continues to spread ? remembering that \"to teach is also to create an island\"! It is as if each act of teaching were to create an island, a unique and special space where people connect, learn, and transform themselves.
